Andrea Bargnani has signed with Brooklyn Nets, the team announced Sunday.

To this point, the terms have not been disclosed, but it would be shocking if the money is significant.

While the number one overall selection in the 2006 Draft hasn’t exactly lived up to the otherworldly expectations that were set for him when he first entered the National Basteball Association out of Italy, Bargnani has proven himself as a capable scorer in his nine seasons in the league, potentially providing the Kings with a lengthy seven-footer who can stretch the floor with his shooting abilities. Bargnani was a superstar out of Italy but has never become a complete player in the United States (and Canada).

He’s also battled to stay healthy, failing to play in more than 42 games over the past four seasons. He played in just 71 of a possible 164 games after arriving in a 2013 trade with the Toronto Raptors for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, a 2016 first-round pick and two second-round picks. The Rome native averaged 15.4 PPG and 4.7 RPG during his time in Toronto, with his best season coming in 2010-2011, a season in which he averaged 21.4 PPG and 5.2 RPG.

Bargnani has missed 160 games over the past three years due to various injuries.

The Kings have been active this offseason, signing point guard Rajon Rondo to pair with DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay.
