Sacrifice of an innocent to appease Deity
Tirumala Rao, the suspect, who is said to be in his 30s, allegedly took the boy home from a child care center, Press Trust of India news agency reported. He then collected the blood and sprinkled all over his house. Police rescued the man from the mob and shifted him to the government hospital at Kandukur and thence to RIMS.

“This is a first-of-its-kind incident in Prakasam district”, he said.
Locals tracked down the accused, who had fled after another child said he had seen him seized the five-year-old, and tied him to a pole while they searched for the missing boy. After that he performed a few pujas and cut the boy’s head.
A 4-year-old Indian boy was reportedly beheaded Wednesday in a ritual in a southern coastal region of the country in what was believed to be an offering to a deity. Indian devotees have a loving and intimate bond with her because of her form as a caring mother despite having a fearful appearance.
The child, L Manusagar, was picked by a certain Tirumala Rao from anganwadi in the village. The woman went to Rao’s house along with a group of villagers and found it locked. By that time her husband and Manu’s father had rushed in too. Not stopping there, the villagers set Rao ablaze, after pouring the kerosene. Hearing her cries, other villagers trooped in and were shocked to find body of the boy and utensils filled with blood.

Rao will reportedly be examined by a psychiatrist once he is released from the hospital. “We will interrogate Rao once he recovers”, he added. “We found a rope from the residence which the accused might have used to strangle the boy”, said a police officer.
