The Galaxy S7 edge is the result of technological advancements since the original S series was launched six years ago.

The 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 screen brings you a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels at 534ppi which is significantly higher than the 1,080 x 1,920-pixel resolution of the iPhone 6S Plus (401ppi).
“At the time we launched the S6, we upgraded all the performance within the device”.
Featuring a refined design, the new phones with prices ranging from Dh2,499 to Dh2,799 for the edge, boast more advanced camera, streamlined software functionality and connectivity to a galaxy of products, services, and experiences, said Tarek Sabbagh, head of IT and Mobile Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics.
Samsung’s S6 and S6 edge devices won every award going in 2015 and these new smartphones certainly look like the ones to beat in 2016.
“A lot of people were very disappointed we didn’t have a [memory card] slot in the S6, and [its return] has been one of the most positive reactions to the S7. It’s a really massive achievement for engineers”. The camera module also supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and 100 percent PDAF. The G5 has 2 back cameras, one 16 megapixels and one 8 megapixels wide angle lens. In theory, it means that all iPhones that get updated to that iOS version will become unhackable.
Pre-orders are also available in Optus stores and via telesales from 9am AEDT, 26 February 2016.
In practice, Samsung is able to offer an always-on mode in the S7, constantly displaying a clock, notifications and other highlights when the phone is locked. Apple offers f/2.2 and a 31mm lens.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 ($998) and S7 edge ($1,098) will be available from March 12 locally. However, wireless charging is typically slower than plugging in a USB charger.
It’s too early to say which phone is better. If you are then that might be the entire decision made right there. Which one is best for you is really down to your personal taste and preference.
If you pre-order the GS7 or GS7 edge (there’s still a little time for that), you’ll get a Gear VR for free. Additionally, based on a SamMobile statement, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is here to these flagship designs.
Samsung has also joined the club, however slightly late.

The usual processor and chipset upgrades are included and the devices are capable of supporting the Vulcan application programme interface, for more efficient graphical processing during gaming.
