Earnhardt talked at the track this weekend about some possible reasons for his success-most notably his vehicle and his father.

It was also the anniversary of when his father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., won his final NASCAR race four months his fatal crash during the final lap of the Daytona 500.
“We’ve seen Dale Jr. over the years just really show everybody how it’s done, and that’s because he has a really good understanding of the air, the way it works and knowing how to use that to his advantage”, Martin Truex Jr. said.
Even if a relief driver should take over, the driver who took the green flag to start the race gets credit for the victory.
– Jimmie Johnson leads all active drivers in average starting position with a 9.75.
Defending champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. was seventh-fastest in the second session at 193.584 miles per hour.
“Growing up, watching my dad.who was one of the absolute best.it helped”, he said. I am disappointed because what happened in that race, what we were doing, and what the auto was doing was unbelievable.
“I learned a tremendous amount because I exclusively watched him whereas, someone else who grew up around the sport may not have focused as much on one particular driver”, he said. “They lost something from the time they came from Daytona to Talladega”.
“We’ve decided we just have to run real hard”. “Hopefully we can do that again and have similar results”.
“When it comes to something like that that is a safety issue, fine or not I think you’ve got to speak your mind and you’ve got to be honest about it”.
The ISC Archives and Research Center in Daytona Beach sent us photos of three of those drivers taken on their respective memorable days: Victory Lane shots of Brickhouse and Bouchard and a shot of Hillin running ahead of teammate Bobby Allison, en route to the victory.
“NASCAR fans are capturing the pageantry and excitement of race day on their mobile devices and with Snapchat we’re able to share that experience well beyond the race track”, said Jill Gregory, NASCAR senior vice president, marketing and industry services.
“Talladega is a fantastic venue to watch a race”, said track Chairman Grant Lynch.
For every win, there are more defeats.
Qualifying for the Sparks Energy 300 is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CDT with qualifying for the GEICO 500 set for 11:30 a.m. CDT. “I’ve had some races I’ve done some good driving and some I’ve probably done some bad, but I feel like that was one of the best saves I’ve ever made through the grass to keep it straight”. It sucks, because we were just six inches short of being declared the victor.
“We’ve lost a lot races here, but that one stands out”, he said.

“I thought I was writing my own story last Fall”, he said. “I’ve got questions, too, that I’d like to have answers to”.
