Safe Full Of Marijuana Sold By Accident

article-2396301-1B58BB14000005DC-499_634x355When a man from Sidney, Ohio ordered a gun safe for his home, he was hoping only to get it at a cheap price. However, when it was delivered to him and he was ready to put his guns inside, he found a big surprise. Inside the safe, there was 280 lbs (136 kilograms) of marijuana inside! That is a street value worth of $420,000. In total, the 10 packages of the drug were a concern for the current owner of the safe.

Shelby County Sheriff, John Lenhart said “”I work in law enforcement 47 years, but in all that time have never seen anything like it. A very effective way to hide the drugs. They were tightly packed, service dogs do not have their scent.”

This find was thanks to the man ordering the safe over the internet. The box, made in Mexico, was packaged nicely and somewhere between Mexico and Ohio, things got confused. The driver who drove to Ohio with the substance is going to be investigated and this will hopefully give officers a lead as to who the criminals are in this entire thing. The buyer, so police believe, is not connected to the illegal drugs found in the safe that cost the buyer $1,700.

This is not the only time things in this nature have happened. The method of transport is very inexpensive and mostly, it is a reliable article-2396301-1B58B4E3000005DC-602_634x475one. The criminals pay $1,700 and they are sent directly to the recipient. This just means that police are going to have to learn more about this method of transport so they can stay ahead of it. The incident involving the Ohio man is one accident that is sure not to be repeated and police are in the process to try to find the criminals so they can stop it from becoming a bigger issue.

The other safes that were in the truck being transported were empty and no drugs were found. The “war on drugs” is something everyone has been fighting and it seems that it is going to be hard to make sure that this type of thing is going to stop happening. However, there are not enough resources that can keep up with the weight of the task. The entire ordeal happened in June, but authorities have kept it quiet as not to alert any of the criminals involved. However, they have yet to apprehend them. Just follow Mr. Mackey’s advice: “Drugs are bad, mmmkay.”
