Sagna hoping to win more silverware for Man City boss

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that him and his side are extremely disappointed after their penalty shoot-out loss to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final, according to reports from the Mirror.

Fernandinho opened scoring for City, before Coutinho levelled with a few minutes of regulation time left.

Pellegrini had faced criticism when he confirmed understudy goalkeeper Willy Caballero would play at the Wembley showpiece in place of first-choice Joe Hart, despite an unsure display in the FA Cup hammering at Chelsea last weekend. I’m happy for the performance of the team, we played against a hard team in Liverpool, we lost to them at the Etihad (4-1).

Lallana was one of three Liverpool players to miss a spot-kick, along with Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva.

“I think the decision I took last week was very important to win these two games, mid-week in the Champions League and tonight (Sunday) to win the trophy”, said Pellegrini, who previously led City to League Cup glory in 2014.

On his decision to keep faith with Caballero, City manager Manuel Pellegrini said: “I’d rather lose the title than lose my word”. My word is more important than football… Of course we will strike back – 100 percent.

Liverpool beat Stoke City on penalties in the semi-final to get to Wembley, while Man City came from behind to beat Liverpool’s rivals Everton to prevent an all-Merseyside final.

“You have to feel how it is to lose”. “Fortunately for us, we now have three or four players coming back to the squad, so we are not going to give up any chances to win the Premier League”. You have to feel a defeat, you can’t say it’s not important.

“You know you fall down, but you have to stand up. We can not change this game now, we have to carry on and we will carry on”.

And on Oscars night, the gong for best supporting keeper went to Caballero, 34, a £6million signing from Malaga, who played in every round and said: “It’s fantastic for all the blue people”.
