Saint Teresa had an impact on Western Massachusetts residents
At the conclusion of the Canonisation Mass for Mother Teresa of Calcutta, thanked all those who attended the day’s celebrations, especially those most closely attached to St Teresa.

Mother Teresa, a Nobel Peace Prize victor, was known during her lifetime as the “saint of the gutters” for her work among the poorest of the poor in India, arriving in Calcutta on January 6, 1929.
In an interview with VOA’s Mariama Diallo, Tukiçi said hearing that Mother Teresa was going to be a saint was a very special moment for him. Mother Teresa set up her Missionaries of Charity in the slums of Kolkata, in 1950 and established her headquarters in the Indian city for almost half a century.
