Saints’ Brees expects to start at Carolina
Back in 2007, McCown was backing up Jeff Garcia in Tampa Bay when the veteran starter went down with a back injury, forcing McCown into the starting lineup against the Saints on the road. Brees showed his usual efficiency, completing 70.6 percent of his passes while throwing for a score and running for another.

Ralph Malbrough is a Saints fan living in Houston.
In the second half, Brees didn’t throw the ball in the manner that the future Hall of Fame quarterback is known for. Cooks wouldn’t say when he hurt the ankle, but he did say that he expects to be on the field against Carolina.
Drew Brees has a shoulder injury. He never left the game, finishing 24 of 38 for 255 yards and one touchdown.
While Week 3 hardly determines a team’s yearlong success, the Saints are ailing beyond Brees shoulder at 0-2, and are desperate for a win.
If not for the fact that he didn’t throw a pass, there would have been no obvious indication that he is in a race to recover from a bruised rotator cuff by Sunday, when New Orleans tries to avoid dropping to 0-3 at Carolina.
Do you feel more pressure to play since your team is 0-2? The quarterback and coach both arrived during the 2006 offseason as the Saints returned to New Orleans. Whether the Panthers face an injured Drew Brees or backup Luke McCown, they will be facing a weakened passing attack.
The duo’s ultimate moment came in 2009, when the seemingly cursed Saints won Super Bowl XLIV, and Brees was named the game’s MVP.
The decision to sit won’t be easy, the saints can ill afford to go oh and three, oh and two in the NFC South.
Regardless of whether Brees plays or not, the Saints’ offense has a lot of work they need to put in. “And with Brees struggling in ways he hasn’t before, there is a question about what he will do the rest of this season – and what the organization thinks he can do beyond it”.
Teams don’t pay players for what they have done in the past. New Orleans actually holds a winning record against the Panthers as the visitor. “The idea is just to make progress every day”, said Brees, who said he has also done strengthening exercises related to the throwing motion. He has been sacked four times, hit seven times and pressured countless times, as he has fumbled twice. Washington has a solid defense and has allowed only two offensive touchdowns this season.
Outlook: After becoming the first team in National Football League history to open a season with two straight losses while blowing a lead of 10 or more points in the fourth quarter, the Giants can’t afford to lose. And even if he doesn’t, the Saints offense will still be mostly the same.

“It’s your biggest fear as a lineman, especially with a guy like that, is letting him down”, Strief said Wednesday, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
