Saints’ Drew Brees day-to-day with torn plantar fascia
Trainers taped up Brees’s foot during the first half of the game, but he did not miss a snap.

New Orleans responded with Brees’ 27-yard touchdown to Cooks and further closed the gap on Kai Forbath’s field goal after the Lions made a stop on third-and-goal from the 4.
“Stafford completed 12 of 13 passes in the first half with his lone incompletion coming on the Lions” second series of the game.
If Brees is unable to play, it would the just the second game in his 10 seasons with the Saints that he would have to sit due to injury.
Saints QB Drew Brees was wearing a walking boot at his post-game press conference Monday night, following the Black and Gold’s 35-27 loss to the Detroit.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions will have some fond memories of the way they came together this season, even if they regret it took them too long to get rolling. In limiting the Saints’ rushing attack, the Lions made them one-dimensional.
“His stats said it all – 22 of 25, which is (near) perfection”, said Detroit receiver Golden Tate, who caught touchdown passes of 1 and 5 yards to help the Lions (5-9) build a 28-3 lead early in the second half and then hang on. Whether or not he’s part of the team moving forward, Brees deserved better.
“We knew we had to stay on the field and be able to score points”, Stafford said.
As impressive as Cooter’s transition to being a coordinator for the first time has been, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell said Stafford deserves a lot of credit for adjusting well during the season. “He spread it around quite a bit”.
“We’re kind of taking it day by day”, Payton said.
“But we have to be more consistent just like every other team in the NFL”.
“For any coach to be somewhere for 10 years, that’s very good. You have to deal with what is going on today”.
“New Orleans” second touchdown during the run came five plays after Hau”oli Kikaha recovered an Ameer Abdullah, and Bell fumbled on the Lions” ensuing possession but right tackle Michael Ola fell on the loose ball.
Brees hit Marques Colston for a touchdown on the next play, but a penalty for an ineligible receiver downfield left the Saints on the short end of a 21-3 score. “We’re going into it expecting to see Drew”.
Brees had his NFL-record 10th consecutive season of 4,000+ yards this year and crossed over the 60,000-yard mark for all-time passing yards.

Similarly to Brees, Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning is dealing with a similar injury (partially torn plantar fascia) and has missed the last four games. An MRI on Tuesday confirmed the injury, according to multiple reports.
