Salesforce.com integrates visual analytics capabilities across its entire cloud
Steve Loughlin, CEO of SalesforceIQ, Salesforce, said: “Today’s massive influx in communication data creates powerful signals about the health and potential of business relationships”.

SalesforceIQ for Small Business is generally available now in the USA, Canada, and Australia.
Salesforce rolled out an “analytics cloud” this week that is touted as tying analytics to businesses processes and workflows so users can act directly on business intelligence from its new Wave Actions dashboard.
“We’re bringing analytics to more places”, said Rosenman.
Using tools within IoT Cloud, business users can create alerts or filters to identify important data from event streams.
What’s more, a recent report by McKinsey suggested the IoT would be an $11.1 trillion economic opportunity annually by 2025.
That’s the goal firmly in Salesforce’s sights. Salesforce reports and dashboards have delivered operational metrics and CRM performance charts and graphs for years, but with new Wave visualizations they can be presented for a more intuitive user experience, with components resized and rearranged to match the desired display.
Essentially, the latest Salesforce product provides what Salesforce has always done from its earliest days when it put CRM in the cloud.
“About 20 years ago in the industry, if you wanted to find out what was going on in your systems, you had to buy a product like Tivoli to be able to figure out what was happening”, Tod Nielsen, Salesforce’s executive vice president of platform, told press on the eve of the company’s annual event Dreamforce, which is being held in San Francisco this week.
Last week, Salesforce launched Salesforce App Cloud platform, intended to help CIOs to deliver connected apps for any business need. While Wall Street analysts now believe a merger is less likely to happen, Ives said they still will be closely watching the public interactions between Benioff and Nadella at the conference. “I think of this as the transformation that happened when spreadsheets became available”. Phones, wearables, windmills and industrial turbines are just some of the things that can be connected to the IoT Cloud.
Salesforce is working with an expanding ecosystem of partners including ARM, Cisco, Informatica, Emerson, TeMeDa, Hexagon Metrology, and Intel.
Nielsen also pitches a “this is IoT for the rest of us” line, arguing that while IBM used to advertize for data scientists to tackle vast complexity, the Salesforce offering intends to “democratize the IoT”.
Now in limited general availability and pilot with a limited number of customers, Salesforce plans to make IoT Cloud to between six and 10 customers next year. It sees a connection between the customer and all of this data being generated by devices and various other sources and the company wants to help customers begin to capture and make sense of this growing amount of information. What’s interesting about this is not like launching Salesforce.
The idea behind this is to help businesses to use data-driven insight in order to improve customer relationships.

“Subscription and support revenues from Analytics Cloud … were not significant for the three and six months ended July 31, 2015”, Salesforce said in its most recent earnings statement.
