Beta testers included Emerson, which tracked thermostats to IoT cloud, and Hexagon Meteorology, which used it for real-time factory monitoring of precision-measuring equipment in the field. In turn this cloud based set up has been provided access to open-source Big Data engines Apache Spark and Apache Storm.
Salesforce just completed its “Summer of Apps” with the introduction of the Sales Wave and Service Wave mobile apps.
What this means is that by using this new tool by Salesforce, salespeople don’t need to jump back and forth between different CRM platforms to monitor marketing efforts, emails, or relationship intelligence softwares.
Wave6, an Emtec subsidiary, today announced it has been named the recipient of the Salesforce partner innovation award for Analytics. The IoT Cloud will allow businesses to create instant one-to-one proactive actions for sales, service, marketing or any other business process, Benioff said.
SalesforceIQ for Sales Cloud is in beta and free to Sales Cloud users in English. Wave is also integrated within Salesforce’s App Cloud, which was outlined last week.
Adam Bosworth, a software expert who lead the Salesforce project, says the goal is to do the following.
“Our sales are relationship based, not transactional”, said Payal Kadakia, CEO of ClassPass, in the statement.
Salesforce executives say that these improvements turn data insight into business action (see Figure 1). Built on its “Thunder” platform, the IoT cloud is expected to court both large and small companies, and boasts analytics that are said to be powerful enough to interpret billions of data points from all types of devices and data streams in real time. IoT Cloud is designed to help businesses connect with and respond to their customers using connected devices. “The ability to make sense of that data by connecting it with existing customer information will be a key factor in turning data into action”.
Salesforce.com has announced a service called Internet of Things Cloud at its Dreamforce customer and partner event in San Francisco. IoT Cloud connects billions of events from applications and devices.
“We want to make [big data] accessible to business users and to [help them] write rules and real-time logic and sort through it and find the data that is most relevant [to them]”, he said. The NJ LWD collaborated with Bluewolf to implement Salesforce Service Cloud and drive a better digital and connected experience for citizens. Salesforce Lightning is said to “enable anyone to create modern, intuitive apps”.
Practically speaking, SalesforceIQ for Small Business offers real-time visibility into relationships without requiring users to waste time manually logging information.

That’s a big loss, especially when you consider that McKinsey Global Institute estimated IoT applications could have a potential economic impact of as much as $11.1 trillion per year by 2025.
