Salman Khan Acquitted from Two Poaching Cases
Previously, Salman who is convicted to have killed a gazelle and two protected antelopes in Rajasthan in the year 1998, was previously sentenced to one and five years in jail due to the two poaching cases. “The honourable high court has not agreed with the prosecution evidence or its documents in both the cases”.
Salman Khan acquitted from Drunken Driving and Hit-and-Run case in Mumbai High Court past year.
Saraswat said he has never visited Khan’s home in Mumbai, but added that he attended Salman’s sister Arpita’s wedding in November 2014.
Two separate cases had been registered against Khan under section 51 of Wildlife Protection Act for poaching of two chinkaras in village Bhawad on 26-27 September, 1998 and one chinkara in Mathania (Ghoda Farm) on 28-29 September, 1998.
On Monday, Justice Nirmaljit Kaur, while allowing Salman’s appeal, acquitted him of all charges and dismissed the state government appeal for enhancing the sentences. Official sources said the Supreme Court might now be approached. She further wrote, “Thank U to all bhai’s & the families well wishers for your prayers, support, love & best wishes. This wouldn’t have been possible without you”, Arpita said.
Today, Salman’s sister Alvira Agnihotri was present when the verdict was announced in favour of the superstar.
While Salman fans (popularly known as “Bhaitards” and “Salmaniacs”) rejoiced with the verdict (#WeLoveSalmanKhan was trending for over two days on Twitter), there were many who also showed their disappointment.
