“Our Christmas Red Kettles are without a doubt the most prolific segment of our fundraising”, reports Major Joseph May of the local Salvation Army. The army plans to give out the clothing Saturday from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m.at the Citadel for as long as supplies last.
As The Salvation Army embarks on its Christmas campaign, it counts on the goodwill of volunteers to make Christmas memorable for people who need care. Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors and supporters, we are ready to help this year again.
This year, to ensure the bells keep ringing through Christmas Eve, the agency needs 75 paid employees to supplement volunteers at its 72 Kettle locations in Louisville. And what we are pleased about, really pleased about is the way that the community responds to need. Help the Salvation Army meet their goal of $62,000 by ringing the bell at Kroger’s, Bassett’s, Walmart, Community Market Oak Harbor, Miller Market Genoa or Friendship Food Stores.
