Volunteers at the Salvation Army in Philadelphia are now racing to prepare full meals for almost 4,000 people ahead of Thanksgiving.
We are once again appealing for the donation of new toys and gifts for different age groups to help a few of the most vulnerable families in the Ribble Valley enjoy Christmas. “We’re just blessed that we’re able to help them”.
“We make the dinner from scratch and we could use things that go into corn bread dressing and we could use rolls and cranberry sauce, all the things that go into making this dinner special”, Futrelle said. Ever, ever so grateful.
“Its nice to know that it helps families to give kids Christmas that can’t afford it. You know, you get to bring joy to a kids life this time of year”, said Smith.
Toys can be dropped off at the Skipton Building Society in Market Place or at the Salvation Army shop on Lowergate, until Friday, December 18th, when they will be distributed directly to families in time for Christmas.
