Sam Bradford benched as Philadelphia Eagles Coach Chip Kelly plays it safe

“This has nothing to do with any of that”. “I know he’s disappointed”.

Sam Bradford is Philadelphia’s starting QB.

Wolff, who was walking with a noticeable limp, said he did not remember a specific play that re-aggravated the injury. “That’s my decision. I don’t think he’s real happy with my decision”. I feel more comfortable putting him in for the Ravens game [Aug. 22]. “I’m sure it depends on how the practices go next week and how it goes in the game”. But he also understood. But, Jeff McLane says that it’s actually for a good reason.

Bradford is slated to play in the Eagles’ second preseason game against the Ravens.

But in each of those cases, it was understood why the player missed time.

“There’s still plenty of time in the preseason for me to get the work that I need”.

That, in turn, could force Bradford to move around more in the pocket. You could argue that’s no big deal since he was a 6th-round draft pick, but Shepherd was a standout in OTAs and training camp. Kelly revealed that Matt Barkley, and Tim Tebow are vying for the third string quarterback position, and they will receive the bulk of Sunday’s action. Even though Ballard couldn’t get back on the field as of yet, the game did mark the return of Tim Tebow to the NFL. Matt Barkley has been battling it out with Tebow all summer long and hasn’t really separated himself as a clear cut option to secure the final spot on the depth chart. Kelly further notes that one of things that sets Tebow apart from the rest of the quarterbacks is his “ability to run the football”.

“Any opportunity is great”, Sanchez said.

There were moments of excellence for the former New York Jet while in practice, but the forgettable times were also as many, which would probably make the coaching staff think twice on fielding him during actual games.

Tebow is back after sitting out two seasons and competing for a job as the No. 3 quarterback. But on his second possession, Barkley’s pass was tipped by Bjoern Werner and intercepted by Amarlo Herrera. Linebackers Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans have sat out the last couple days in the team’s training camp.

The Eagles will face the Indianapolis Colts for their pre-season opener at the Lincoln Financial Field.

Kelly mentioned Washington tight end Niles Paul, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in his team’s preseason opener Thursday night, calling Paul “a tremendous football player, who’s done for the year right now”.
