Sam Bradford: I wanted to be with Philadelphia Eagles

He didn’t like it in Philly, they said.

Bradford said he was “not at all” tempted to see how much money he could get from another team in free agency. “Obviously … to not have those questions marks and to be able to focus on getting myself into the best shape possible and getting ready for the spring program and getting myself ready for OTAs, I think that’s a huge advantage”. “Every day, we’re looking for an offensive lineman”. But I expect the names they bring in to be more along the lines of the 2013 class rather than the 2015 class.

In todays National Football League, the quarterback is the most important position. Hopefully for the Eagles, he can play without many mistakes and turn into a legitimate franchise quarterback., but if his history has anything to say about it, he won’t. We haven’t had that in a long time. “You’re changing schemes, you’re changing players”. It helps you win. “And listen, you’re going to continue to develop your roster”. Bradford was in the final year of his six-year rookie deal with the Rams that totaled at $78 million. “I told my agent after the season was over, this is where I wanted to be and I wanted him to get me back here, and thankfully he did”.

Despite the new deal lacking the long-term security he and agent Tom Condon sought, Bradford expressed as much relief as happiness to be back for $22 million guaranteed and a chance to make as much as $40 million. “I think I just see some of those really well”.

Instead, he said he wanted to play in Pederson’s system.

Bradford joined the Eagles last season and compiled some career bests, but the team finished 7-9 and coach Chip Kelly was sacked. “You’ve got to do right for your team”. Bradford said he wanted to remain in Philadelphia.

Kelly is now the new head coach of another team that failed to reach the playoffs, the San Francisco 49ers. “I think we have a great group of guys in that locker room”. “I really enjoyed my time here a year ago”. I build some great relationships with some of those guys … “This is where I wanted to be”. That’s why I wanted to come back here. The Philadelphia Eagles will be at the top of that list despite free agency having not yet begun. But they aren’t the only ones.

Sam Bradford, a buddy of Murray’s dating back to their days at Oklahoma, indicated that he’s unaware of any issues. He and his teammates are talking out some dates to do just that at some point this month.

“I have no idea where half the reports come from”, Bradford said. “Whether this deal is two years or five years or ten, I approach each year the same”.

Under Kelly’s guidance, Bradford compiled an 86.4 passer rating last season. He is also comfortable with new head coach Doug Pederson. “The fact that he’s played the position was a huge bonus for me”.
