Sam Bradford ‘Likely’ To Ask For Trade

Philadelphia pulled off two trades to be able to make the second choice in the 2016 NFL Draft, and while the Eagles need help on the offensive line and in the secondary, they’re going to take a quarterback at No. 2 on Thursday night.

‘By making the initial trade with Miami earlier this off-season and with this trade today with Cleveland, we feel that we have put ourselves in the best possible position to draft an impact player, ‘ Eagles executive vice president Howie Roseman said Wednesday.

But the three quarterbacks sitting at the top of the 2016 draft board – Jared Goff, Carson Wentz and Paxton Lynch – aren’t perceived as the slam dunks Elway and Aikman were when they became the first overall picks of their drafts.

Brown says it was not an easy decision to move out of the second spot but that there was consensus and agreement among front office personnel to do so.

“I told you guys before, I’m not like everybody else, ” Jackson said. And the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback reportedly isn’t happy.

The Philadelphia Eagles sacrifices multiple draft selections – the No. 8 overall pick, third- and fourth-round picks in 2016 NFL Draft, as well as a first-rounder selection next year and a second-rounder pick in 2018 draft. Though, the quarterback has previously indicated that he didn’t give the idea of joining former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly in San Francisco any real thought. In 1999, the Eagles chose Donovan McNabb as their franchise quarterback while fans wanted the organization to take Ricky Williams, the Heisman Trophy winning running back.

That next step is drafting a quarterback that can change the franchise. Then they traded up for the No. 2 pick to likely select a QB.

This move comes after the Rams made a trade to get the No. 1 pick last week.

“We’re very sure we’re going to get the player we want”, Roseman said before adding that the Eagles are “very comfortable” with either.

Philadelphia originally had the No. 13 pick in the first round. “Even if you take (a quarterback) at No. 1 or 2, it’s not like you’ve solved it”. The Eagles had already signed promising backup Chase Daniel this offseason as well, and if Bradford is gone the team might end up opening training camp for a competition between the two for the starting job.

“I stuck with Goff”, Kiper said, “mainly because I don’t think anybody has done it better in terms of maneuvering in the pocket over the years”.
