Sam Bradford Now a Viking
I thought the 1st-rounder in 2017 and the 2nd-rounder in 2018 for Wentz went too far.

-In the initial cut to 53, five draft picks are among the nine new faces on the roster.
Washington opted to keep rookie Nate Sudfeld, a sixth-round draft pick out of IN, as its third quarterback.
In a move that some may consider a bit desperate, the Minnesota Vikings traded away a 2017 first round draft pick and an additional 2018 fourth round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for quarterback Sam Bradford on Saturday.
Cleveland signed punter Britton Colquitt, who was released by Denver. He missed the final three preseason games. As it turned out, a gruesome non-contact injury on a practice field in Eden Prairie, Minnesota changed the entire complexion of his team’s season. It would later be announced that he would be out for the season and this opened up a lot of questions about the regular season starting QB.
Bradford was sent to the Vikings on Saturday for a pair of draft picks, including a first-rounder in 2017. Daniel was slated to be the backup to Sam Bradford this season, but with Bradford now in Minnesota, Daniel is the only quarterback on the Eagles’ roster to ever throw a pass in an National Football League regular-season game.
Wentz, the No. 2 overall pick in April’s draft, hasn’t played in a live drill or game since he suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs during the first preseason contest August 11. McLeod Bethel-Thompson is now the third-string quarterback on Eagles’ roster.
The Minnesota Vikings, on the other side of the story, will be turning on to Bradford as their starting quarterback over veteran Shaun Hill once the former learns the Vikings system.
The Vikings will try to replicate the season they had past year and get even farther in the playoffs, but it’s going to be an uphill battle with newcomer, Bradford coming onto the team. He had a strong second half in Kelly’s up-tempo offence.
Bradford expressed disappointment when the Eagles drafted Wentz less than two months after he had signed a two-year, $35 million contract extension.
With Sam Bradford out of the picture, the Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly set to turn to rookie Carson Wentz as the starting quarterback this season.
Vikings tight ends coach Pat Shurmur was the Rams offensive coordinator when they took Bradford in 2010 and helped him win the 2010 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award the same season. Shurmur and Bradford also spent the 2015 season together in Philadelphia. The Eagles are responsible for Bradford’s $11 million signing bonus, which was due on or before September 1, and the rest of his contract – $20 million in base salaries and $4 million March 2017 roster bonus – would go to the Vikings, according to ESPN.

The Eagles were 7-9 last season and would have been in a rebuilding mode in a division other than the diluted NFC East.
