Sam Smith Says His James Bond Song is ‘Horrible to Sing’

This performance was already overdue and Sam Smith has laid it. The British singer has won multiple Grammys and it showed when he performed “Writings On The Wall“. When pushed for why, Smith deadpanned, followed with a smile: “It’s just so high”.

Before performing the song live for the first time, Smith jokingly revealed that belting the ballad is pain. Because I did the demo in the studio, and they used that.

Asked about whether he would do a Bond theme he said: “I love Bond so much and I appreciate the music in the film that it would be so much pressure to do a Bond song. I have to grab my balls, it’s very bad”.

Spectre is being released in the United Kingdom and Ireland today (October 26).

“I’ve been going now for three years non-stop and it feels right for me to just go home and just live my life and be a 23 year old”, he told ET Online.

“I love how classy and clean-cut they are”.

What did you think of Sam Smith’s performance? I hadn’t seen all the old movies, and I loved how modern his take on Bond was.

Deciding to turn this into a positive, the band quickly sculpted “Spectre” – an alternative Bond theme, devoid of the bombast normally associated with the franchise.
