Sam Smith Wants to ‘Just Go Home and Spend Time Dating’

“[Daniel Craig] was my favourite initially, because I’m 23 years old”.

Earlier in October, Smith made history after landing the first United Kingdom chart number one for a James Bond theme song, with powerful ballad Writing’s On The Wall.

“I love how classy and clean-cut they are”.

After snatching up awards and performing all over the world for his debut album In The Lonely Hour over the past two years, and recovering from vocal cord surgery in recent months, Smith plans to use the sabbatical to get his life back in order.

“I’ve only actually sung the song once, really”.

In a cruel twist of life, the Gods of Music have returned Adele to us, but they’ve taken Sam, as the singer reveals he’ll be going on a music hiatus to spend a few time dating. “So I’m very proud of it. I feel like when you see the film tonight it does fit perfectly, because this is a song for a film, it’s not a standalone song, it goes with the film”.

We hate to say this but, please, somebody break Sam Smith’s heart again if only for the good of the listening public. “It’s just so high”, he said. “I have to grab my balls, it’s terrible”.

“It was a dream of mine to do Bond, but I never thought it would happen this quickly”, Sam told ET. I personally wasn’t the biggest fan of it, and neither were a lot of other people who gave their snarky opinions on Twitter – dying cat comparisons included. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song.
