Samajwadi Party focused on family disputes rather than serving people: BJP
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s has openly said that his son “Akhilesh has ruined the Samajwadi Party” (Mulayam slams son, sides with Shivpal, August 15).

The last main point of contention between Akhilesh and Shivpal was the merger of the Qaumi Ekta Dal, a regional outfit headed by mafia don Mukhtar Ansari.
At a flag-hoisting programme on the occasion of the Independence Day, Mulayam said that while Shivpal was working hard a conspiracy was being hatched against the minister within the SP and the government and cautioned that if he leaves the party, it will get divided into factions. “If he resigns, a lot of people will go with him”, Mulayam said to a visibly uncomfortable Akhilesh Yadav.
Shivpal had announced the merger when Akhilesh, who is the state party chief, was away from the state capital reflecting that top functionaries in the party were not on the same page.
“The people of Uttar Pradesh are being grinded between father-son and an uncle-nephew fight”. If he quits, then the situation for the party will become bad.
The yet another public criticism of the state government means that the Samajwadi Party has conceded defeat even before the poll bugle is sounded for the Assembly election due early next year, it said.
He suggested Yadav should apologise to the people as he had sought votes in 2012 in his name and then made Akhilesh the chief minister. “I also want to ask him if SP will face elections with this unsuccessful Chief Minister”.
Recently, even Mulayam had given a tongue lashing to SP lawmakers asking them to refrain from land grabbing and making easy money and instead concentrate on development work if they wanted to retain power in the state.
“MLAs and MLCs involved in such activities will be expelled from the SP”. “There should be no corruption, whether it’s at police station or tehsil”, he said.

“The SP chief’s confessional statement warrants that Akhilesh Yadav had no moral right to continue in office and he should step down from the CM’s post immediately”, said he.
