Samia Shahid: Ex-husband and father charged with murder in Pakistan
Nabila Ghazanfar said Saturday that Samia Shahid, a 28-year-old woman from Bradford, was found dead in July of what were assumed to be natural causes.

Samia’s family had claimed that she died from a cardiac attack.Originally from Bradford, Samia had been visiting her family in Jhelum when she was murdered.
The story of Shahid Samir’s murder has also drawn attention to the problem of so-called “honor killings” in Pakistan.
The police said Nawaz had done so to save Shakil from charges of rape that had already been proved in the forensic report and the DNA test of Shakil.
“Her ex-husband has also been charged with raping her”, he said.
The report also is seeking the extradition of Shahid’s mother, Imtiaz Bibi, and sister Madiha Shahid from the United Kingdom, both British nationals.
Not only did she divorce Shakeel, a cousin she had been pressured into marrying, but she proceeded to marry Mukhtar Syed Kazam, a man who belonged to both a different clan and, as a Shia, a different Islamic sect. The inquiry concluded that Shahid had been strangled and her first husband Mohammad Shakeel has been detained as the prime suspect.
On hearing that Shahid had been raped before being murdered, she told CNN: “This just adds to the depth of this crime and the levels of evilness”.
She flew to Pakistan last month after being told that her father was ill and died the day before she was due to fly back to Dubai. Shakeel later confessed to police that when Shahid refused, he strangled her with a scarf.
It was reported this week that Samia’s ex-husband had admitted strangling her.
Shahid worked as a beautician there and her second husband said the couple had received threats from her family because they were unhappy with her marriage.
