Samsung Announces Galaxy Note 7, New Gear VR Headset
The innovative Galaxy Note line from Samsung just stepped up a notch with its sixth generation of the “phablet” in a category which it started six years ago.

While listing the features of the Note 7, he said, “Do you know what else it comes with?”
Samsung has yet to give the Note 7 a price, but based on previous models of the Galaxy line-up, it’ll be in the $800-$900 range without a contract.
Looking at those features, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is truly a promising device.
The Galaxy Note 7 was made official this morning, introducing an iris scanner, curved edges (a la Galaxy S7 Edge) and Corning’s new Gorilla Glass 5.
The internal storage of the smartphone is pegged at 64GB and an SD card slot will hold up to 256GB. Of course, just like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge (but unlike the Note 5), the new Note also supports microSD cards – which is obviously good news. There’s the same 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear-facing camera with image stabilisation and support for 4K video, and the same five megapixel camera on the front.
The Note 7 takes security a step further than the iPhone by adding an iris-scanning camera to unlock the phone. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Quad Core (2.15GHz Dual + 1.6GHz Dual), 64 bit, 14 nm processor, 4GB of RAM (LPDDR4), and a 3,500mAh fast charging (wired and wireless) battery, all running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). You’ll also need to buy your GS7, GS7 edge, or Note 5 on an EIP.
The Note 7 will be available from all four major carriers on 19 August with preorders starting today. In addition, the Note 7 also includes a fingerprint scanner under the home button, which glasses wearers can use instead of having to remove their specs to get the iris scanner to work. The extra accuracy is ideal for artists and note-takers alike. Including Verizon, who will be opening pre-orders tomorrow for the device.

We reported a few days ago that Samsung might incorporate a Power Saving Mode on its Galaxy Note 7 flagship, and it seems that the rumors have been confirmed.
