Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today announced that over 500,000 new Galaxy Note7 replacement devices have arrived in the USA and have been shipped to carrier and retail stores. To remind users just how risky the recalled device is, the company is now sending alerts to all Galaxy Note 7 users whenever they turn on or charge the device.

“If there are 10 million units, all 10 million will be reviewed”, Nam Taek-joo, a KATS official told the Associated Press by phone Thursday.
The refund program was scheduled to end Monday, but the Korean government asked Samsung to extend the refund period for the Note 7s to the end of this month.
Announcing a formal voluntary recall for all Note 7, sold between August and September 15, Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America has said, “Consumer safety is always our highest priority”. Consumers may exchange their current Note 7 for a new one or for a Galaxy S7 or S7 edge with a refund of the price difference between the products.
According to US media, all major networks across the pond are now stocking the device again. That customer apparently found an image online of a Note 7 which had exploded and submitted it to Samsung as their own device.
In the statement, Samsung said that the replacement devices have arrived in the United States and have been sent out to carriers and retail stores yesterday, September 20. This comes as great news for potential Note 7 owners who were waiting for the phone’s sales to resume. It may seem that the South Korean Agency wants to make sure that all Galaxy Note 7 owners were informed of the recall and that all faulty devices are returned.
Samsung has received 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the USA alone, including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage, including fires in cars and a garage. No, it’s definitely not a big deal that the safe Galaxy Note 7 units now feature a green battery indicator, and we surely don’t recommend turning it back to white since that’s one way to prove that your phone is not a time ticking bomb.
