Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7, recently began shipping out to carriers and countries around the world.

Tech giant Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said on Wednesday shipments of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone are being delayed as the firm conducts additional quality control testing for the premium device.

There was another explosion of the Galaxy Note 7. That’s according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, who says that they got that information from a Samsung official.

The official said the company’s announcement of the recall is unlikely on Friday because Samsung is in talks with Verizon of the US and other business partners on the issue. The number of reports of Note 7 catching fire is though adding up over the past days.

It now seems that retailers and resellers in South Korea have mostly been affected, with an array of images appearing on social media showing exploded phones. The photos and accounts could not immediately be verified. No injuries have been reported thus far. While the delay of the Note 7 shipments will have an impact on Samsung and sales of new Note 7 devices, continuing to ship defective devices would likely hurt the company even more.

“Products installed with the problematic battery account for less than 0.1 percent of the entire volume sold”.

As SDI is just one of the battery suppliers for the device, reports suggest that there could be problem with a particular batch of the battery.

The Note series smartphones are one of the most expensive lineups released by Samsung and usually inherit designs and features of the Galaxy S series that debut in the spring.

The Galaxy Note 7 is the latest flagship phone for Samsung, and went on sale in stores August 19 for $800 at full price. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article. The company’s stock is falling rapidly, so it’ll possibly issue an official statement on the matter very soon.
