This time, we caught the Samsung Galaxy A9 as it passed through Chinese regulatory authority TENAA.

Among all color options, it will more likely include White and Gold. Unfortunately, Galaxy A9 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and not on the latest Android Marshmallow OS. It’s unlikely that US consumers will see any of these A series devices sold stateside (last year’s were not released domestically, either), but nonetheless, they represent an important design direction for a Samsung suddenly freed from its plastic roots. The Galaxy A9 features a 6-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass along with a pixel resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a calculated pixel density of around 367 ppi.
Hardware-wise, Samsung’s mid-range smartphone comes equipped with a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM. No information has been provided regarding price and availability. Even though the smartphone is official now, most of the features and specifications of the Galaxy A9 were already revealed in the leaks that surfaced in the past weeks.
The device has 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. It is worth stating that the SIM slot in Galaxy A9 is not a hybrid dual-SIM slot as we’ve newly discerned in many other smartphones. It also comes with a fingerprint unlocking system, which supports Samsung Pay mobile payment. Device dimensions are 161.7 mm × 80.9 mm × 7.4 mm, with the A9 weighing around 200 grams.

As far as confirmed specs from the TENAA listing goes, the Galaxy A9 will feature a 13MP rear camera, and a 8MP front camera. Connectivity features included are 4G, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS, ANT+ and Micro USB.
