Samsung Galaxy Note 7 might launch in India on August 11

The launch of the Galaxy Note 7 comes ahead of the latest iPhone launch, expected in the autumn, and days after Samsung reported its biggest quarterly profit in more than two years thanks to strong sales of Galaxy S7 smartphones.

As for the Note 7 pricing from O2, Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone and EE, we now have no details on that. The smartphone adds to the long lineage of the Note series of smartphones (or phablets).

The enhanced Galaxy Note7 S Pen is more than just a writing tool – it is the gateway to getting more done efficiently and accurately. It is squarer though, retaining elements of that signature Note shape. Samsung will be offering customers their choice of a free 256GB MicroSD card or Gear Fit 2 when they purchase a Note 7. Aside from eye scanner, the device has fingerprint sensor under the home button.

The iris scanner will no doubt be the most welcome addition to the phone as it will help alleviate increasing security concerns of today’s digital world. Gorilla Glass 3 is on board for protection against scratches. Unfortunately, there seems to be a part of the device that will not sit well with Galaxy S7 Edge owners who want to upgrade to the Note 7.

Its internal hardware specifications also do not differ much from that of the S7 or S7 Edge. A gold version will also be available in global markets. The Note is, of course, well known for its extremely smooth “S-Pen” or its little stylus which works with great pressure sensitivity on the surface of the device’s screen. The South Korean brand said that it skipped over the number 6 for the new device’s name in favor of the number 7 in a bid to show the new product is a cross generation product with sophisticated technology features. The main camera offers auto focus, 8x digital optic zoom and it is capable of 4K video recording.
