Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall: Trade-ins, gift cards offered in U.S.
It is truly a sad situation for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 lovers including me, as the company is forced to recall units of the smartphone due to hazardous battery issues. Another similar report has surfaced, but it seems that another Samsung flagship is at fault here.

Samsung benefited from the popularity of the Galaxy S7, IDC said, and the Galaxy Note 7 was expected to keep that momentum going into the second half of the year.
“Samsung have advised that they are planning to provide a new Note 7 in exchange for the sold Note 7 to consumers”, Spark said. Orders for the new device poured in for the newest addition to the Galaxy Note family but after only a couple weeks Samsung has been forced to place a recall on all of their most advanced cellular devices.
If you are anxious about your Galaxy Note 7 (and you should be on some level), you have two options as of right now.
Samsung’s Note 7s are being pulled from shelves in 10 countries, including South Korea and the United States, just two weeks after the product’s launch.
In its official statement, Samsung claims there have been “35 cases that have been reported globally” in regards to the battery on the Galaxy Note 7 overheating and exploding.
Samsung didn’t say how numerous 2.5 million smartphones already sold are affected but a senior company executive told reporters that only those with faulty batteries are being recalled. “Samsung did not say when the Note 7 will be available for general purchase”, the report added.
“I can’t comment on exactly how much the cost will be”, he said at a conference this Friday, “but it pains my heart that it will be such a big number”.

According to the experts, this will have a very bad impact on the market share of Samsung. Although the major US carriers have all stopped sales of the device, Consumer Reports said that the device could still be found for sale at other retailers. “We are encouraging customers to exchange their Note 7 by taking advantage of our Product Exchange Program”. Until this inspection is completed the company have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.
