Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release date could be earlier than expected

At the start of this year, about nine months after the Galaxy S6 Edge was released alongside its standard model, it only accounted for 2 percent of Samsung’s USA user base compared to the regular Galaxy S6 at 9.4 percent. An official-looking invitation for an August 2nd Galaxy unpacked event has been snapped, suggesting the Galaxy Note 7 isn’t far off, and also that Samsung can’t count.

Several reports doing rounds online hint Samsung is all set to spruce up the upcoming Note with curved edge display and Android Marshmallow, which the South Korean tech firm may later update to Android N following its release.

What would you like to see from the next Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone?

Samsung had introduced the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagships back in February during the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

As per Phone Arena, an unnamed insider source sent a picture featuring a slogan that says “write on the edge of something great” with a shadowy outline of something that resembles an S-Pen stylus. Prior to this, Samsung has typically favored IFA to make their announcements, but for some reason this year we are hearing that an August launch is in the cards.

But that’s not the only thing we can take away from the image.

It is reported to have skipped the 6 name in order to be in line with Apple’s iPhone 7.

According to the image provided by SamMobile (see above) the Unpacked event could take place at the Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center in NY. That includes word that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6/7 would boast of a 5.7 or 5.8-inch display and includes sensors which are likely for iris scanners that help increase phone security measures.

The dual-edge display is nothing new to the company as the feature also made it to the recently released Galaxy S7 Edge.
