Samsung has begun delaying Galaxy Note 7 shipments, as the company is conducting additional quality control testing. Samsung’s largest competitor within the high-end smartphone segment, is expected to introduce its latest iPhone next week. Samsung launched the latest version of the Note series just two weeks ago. Samsung’s share rose 0.8 percent early Friday.

The phone’s promotional images for the newest Samsung Folder 2 flip phone have been surfacing in China’s microblogging website, Weibo.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 includes a stunning dual curved Super AMOLED 5.7 inch Quad HD display, which is credited as being the best ever found on any smartphone.
Although it remains unclear how many devices have been affected, Samsung has been quick to carry out additional checks and hold back some shipments.
For the phones sold in Korea and some overseas markets, ITM Semiconductor, a Korean firm, produces the battery pack.
Samsung said it is investigating reports of explosions after pictures of damaged phones were uploaded on local online communities, social media and YouTube. The photos and accounts could not be immediately verified. It was reported that Note 7 enjoyed a higher number of sales during the first week than Galaxy S7.
Today, however, it looks as though a wide-scale recall may actual be coming for the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones that have already been delivered to retailers or are already in the hands of customers.

While there were rumours about Samsung working on a flip phone codenamed “Veyron”, new leaks indicated that the South Korean smartphone giant is working on a separate mid-range Android clamshell smartphone. The situation seems quite worrying since the units were rendered unusable after such incidents, and it would appear that they were reported in various countries, including South Korea and the US.
