Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB of RAM coming soon (to China)

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and it’s also the first smartphone to possess the protection of Gorilla Glass 5. This rumor has now been confirmed by the company’s chief of mobile DJ Koh. For Enterprise professionals using the Galaxy Note 7 as their work and personal device, this could prove to be invaluable as they separate out anything with sensitive business information (or personal information) inside of Secure-Folder to keep it away from prying eyes. With Knox 2.7, the Galaxy Note 7 has improved kernel security to better prevent these sorts of attacks from happening. However, a TENNA listing discovered by SamMobile hinted at the possibility of a 6GB of RAM variant of the device.

A entry for the Galaxy Note 7 in China’s TENAA regulatory database shows that that particular model, SM-N9300, has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

As disappointing as this may sound, particularly for those who were actually expecting 6GB of RAM to be present in the version that was shown during the company’s official announcement, it looks like Samsung isn’t going to be shipping off this version to USA or Europe.

Samsung has not mentioned other internal storage models, so we guess that 64GB of internal memory is all that you’re going to be getting. For the 6GB RAM version, we have to say that this is a very cheap upgrade, since the unlocked price tag of the original model is $849.

For the benefit of those who have been living under a rock for the past months or so, Samsung skipped on the 6 part for the new Galaxy Note in order to keep up with the flagship names, which is now at Galaxy S7.
