Samsung Galaxy Note5 Features

Samsung unveiled two new smartphones at their Galaxy unpacked event yesterday, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

The S6 edge+ and Note5 each have a 5.7-inch display, but the S6 has smaller overall dimensions and a curved “dual edge” screen that sets aside a portion of the display for contacts or other content. To make a purchase at the point-of-sale, Discover cardmembers will swipe up on eligible Samsung devices, scan their fingerprint and pay. What is a little more surprising is Samsung’s decision to release the Galaxy S6 edge+. Galaxy S6 Edge Plus smartphone, right, and a Galaxy Note 5 smartphone sit on a surface in London, U.K., on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

That will likely turn off the power users that Samsung’s Note series has always attracted. If we speak of internal specs, there’s no change in terms of processor (Exynos 7420), primary camera (16MP), front camera (5MP) and base storage (32GB). The Note 5 also has the S Pen that’s apparently much better than previous pens, and you can even write notes even when the screen is completely turned off.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is priced in the Philippines at P36,990, while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will cost P39,990 for its 32GB and P44,990 for its 64GB versions. It will also be easier to obtain than the Galaxy Note 5 as more regions will have access to this handset at launch. Unfortunately, it will be available just in the United States in Asia, as Samsung didn’t made any announcements regarding the rest of the regions.

Both phones will start rolling out in the US from 21 August, while the S6 Edge+ will launch in Europe and Asia in early September.
