The family of the vehicle reportedly blamed the Note 7 for the auto fire as Samsung is recalling the latest smartphone over a faulty battery.

Samsung’s recall of almost one million Note 7 Smartphones sold in the USA burning up due to battery cell issue.
According to the US media report, the exact cause of the September 5 fire that ripped through a auto with a Galaxy Note 7 smartphone reportedly being left inside in St. Petersburg, a southeastern city of Florida, has been classified as unknown after an investigation by the USA firefight authorities.
US Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners are not returning the potentially faulty devices as expected, despite the risks.
Samsung has received 92 reports of the batteries overheating in the United States, including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage, including fires in cars and a garage.
“According to the burn marks on the sample, we surmise that the source of the heating comes from outside the battery, and it’s very likely that there was an external factor causing the heating problem”, the battery maker said in a statement.
The company has begun a limited recall of the phones that affects about 2,000 smart-phones provided in July and August on a trial basis before the phone’s official launch on Sept 1 in China.
China is the largest smartphone market of the world.
“The exchange programme began today (Monday) and is being carried out without problems”, a spokesperson of the company, headquartered in Seoul, told EFE news. Customers can also enter their phone’s IMEI number online to confirm if they should request a trade.
Two Chinese consumers posted images of their broken Galaxy Note 7 models after they caught fire on social media on Sunday. It is then eligible to be exchanged for a safe Note 7, a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, or a refund. The company said the two units involved in the reported fires were not from that batch. “We would like to apologize to our Note 7 customers for not meeting the standard of product excellence that they have come to expect from Samsung and we sincerely thank them for their understanding and patience”.
