Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Smartphone Flunks Water Tests
Consumer Reports conducted test for Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and S7 Active – all of which is claimed as water resistance.

As you can see in the video, both devices become unusable following completion of the experiment – which tests Samsung’s vow that its devices can survive under 5 feet of water for 30 minutes. Even though the pieces of Samsung Galaxy S7 Active sold in the U.S. are IP68 certified, the Samsung said, there might have been few defective devices which were not as “watertight” as it should have been as per the configuration. It is said to be sticking with Super AMOLED technology, as well as a Quad HD resolution, both of which can be found on the later preceding Note devices.
Consumer Reports repeated its test on a second model, which was also damaged. When the phone was retrieved, the screen was obviously affected by water, as were the camera lenses, and the touchscreen wasn’t responsive.
It sports a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash and a 5-Megapixel Secondary Front facing camera on board with Palm gesture selfie mode, 120-degree selfie mode. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, the ruggedized version of the flagship, is certified on the same as well.
The company says it is investigating the issue.
Obviously, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active did not receive the recommendation of Consumer Reports. But in recent tests by Consumer Reports, two S7 Active smartphones apparently failed separate water-submersion tests, causing the phones to stop working and Consumer Reports to call out Samsung about the alleged problems.

Although Samsung choose to be not very communicated about this aspect of the pitfalls, the company reported that it would be possible that defective devices would stand as the least of the water tight ones.
