Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 ditch Android Adoptable Storage
Samsung announced the impending release of the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones last week and true to its word, the company is now rolling it out to the aforementioned devices. While a year ago Samsung may have overdone it a bit, with a 5.1-inch Galaxy S6, a 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 edge, and then a 5.5-inch Galaxy S6 edge+ after some months, this time around the manufacturer seems to have narrowed its focus down a bit. Samsung also touts dual-pixel technology which is a first on a smartphone and overall claims that it is a massive improvement over the camera in the Galaxy S6, which was rated by DxO as the best smartphone camera of 2015. One will be able to obtain it via Samsung’s Smart Switch desktop app, but do bear in mind that it would be 1GB in size, and when installation is completed, the firmware version would end up as G928SKSU2BPAG.

According to Forbes, the Galaxy S7 is an amalgamation of the stylish Galaxy S6 with the practicality of the Galaxy S5. Android Marshmallow has already been released for the Samsung Galaxy Note5. But is it good enough to compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7 or LG G5? Xiaomi’s direct sales model, which is similar to that of OnePlus, means it sells its phones directly from its website in limited numbers to customers at near-cost price, and right now, it simply doesn’t offer an easy way for U.S. buyers to pick up a phone. For the display aspect, LG’s flagship handset is armed with a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and 554 pixels per inch. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with a choice of 3GB or 4GB RAM (we’ll get into the model breakdown later), and 32/64GB of internal storage.
On Sunday, Samsung Electronics showcased the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, which come with improved batteries and are water-dust resistant. Recently, AnTuTu Benchmark has revealed the Mi 5 to have a higher score compared to Galaxy S7 and G5. As for the front camera, the LG G5 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, which surpasses the 5-megapixel mounted on the Galaxy S7 and the 4-megapixel snapper of the Xiaomi Mi 5.
