Samsung Galaxy S7 to Support MicroSD Card and Water Resistance

Although Samsung’s (OTCMKTS:SSNLF) latest artillery – the upcoming Galaxy S7 – is the company’s response to the iPhone 6s, we believe the former has enough potential to go heads-on with the next generation iPhone 7.

Cost-wise, Samsung Galaxy S6 can be purchased at $199 with a two-year contract, while Huawei Mate 8 costs $643 for the unlocked version. However, with Apple (Samsung’s acknowledged fiercest competitor) rumored to be foregoing the standard audio jack for its own Lightning-capable connectors, the industry observer said that having a universal, standard 3.5mm audio jack will be a crucial and significant feature of the Galaxy S7. From 3,000mAh on the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S7 will be equipped with 3,600mAh battery cell so you wouldn’t have to be attached to a power cord every few hours. All in all, it sounds like the phone should be able to handle pretty much anything the user throws at it with great performance, although it’s not the most powerful Android device we’ve seen on the market so far.

We don’t even known which countries are going to get the phone at the moment, and Samsung aren’t exactly being very open about the situation either.

It has come to light that eventhough the Samsung Galaxy S6 may lose to iPhone’s remarkable 3D Touch, the former has many other features to make up for their loss in making the smartphone “smarter”. The S7 Edge could possibly sport a 5.5-inch display which would be a noticeable difference from the S7.

The device has time and again been a subject of several leaks, and to this huge list of leaks, two more names have been added, both the sources coming from Chinese social network – Weibo, from where we have received accurate information in the past as well.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge to be available as early as February 2016.

The numbers match those of a recent report from Evan Blass at VentureBeat, who claimed the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will come with microSD slots and sizeable batteries, as well as IP67-rated dust and water resistance. While you may end up seeing headlines suggesting that these images (above and below) are photos, let us reassure you, they absolutely are not.
