Samsung Galaxy S8: New leak confirms rear fingerprint scanner

Samsung has a lot riding on its upcoming flagship, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, as it will be the high-end smartphone that the company will launch after the Note 7 debacle. Some users aren’t pleased with the camera bump on Galaxy smartphones and it seems that Samsung has taken their discontent into account.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has just leaked in a new image.

Samsung, the South Korean tech giant might be planning Galaxy S8 smartphone with newest and awesome specifications and features. As of now, the service is available in Australia, Brazil, Canada (currently limited to CIBC customers), China, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and the US. Initially it was assumed that LG Chem would be the second supplier for Samsung’s Galaxy S8 batteries, but that did not happen. Like previous leaks, the rear cutout points towards a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

These conclusions are similar to the probe result announced by Samsung Electronics last month. The phone is likely to arrive with 90 percent screen to body ratio. Thanks to some trusted sources, enthusiasts are finally made aware of what to expect when “Samsung Galaxy S8” is launched this coming March 29. The handsets are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 4 GB of RAM.

Despite the reported increase in screen sizes over their predecessors, the S8 and S8 Plus are both expected to feature the exact same width dimensions to the S7 and S7 edge, putting them at 69.6mm and 72.6mm, respectively. Autofocus is added to front camera. Other rumours have suggested the larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will sport a dual-camera set-up, like the iPhone 7 Plus. The leather cases show that there will be a section for the fingerprint scanner on the back. Moreover, a cut out on the right side of the case shows a dedicated button for Samsung’s personal virtual assistant, Bixby.

Samsung Pay supports MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) that allows a user to send a magnetic signal from smartphone to the payment terminal’s card reader.

A Type-C USB port will also be included, with the Galaxy S8 expected to carry a 3250mAh battery.
