The first USA phone carrier to roll out Android Marshmallow update to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is Verizon.

Even if the LG G2 doesn’t get updated officially to Android 6.0 Marshmallow it should get an unofficial update.

A few weeks ago, Verizon began upgrading the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 to Marshmallow.

This new update comes with new features such as Doze – the battery saving app, Now on Tap – which provides cards with information based on what’s on the screen, and app permissions – users will decide which parts of the device an application will access. As a result, users should expect to receive an OTA notification that asks them to download and install the latest update. AT&T also have the number sync feature on this new update, making the Galaxy Tab S2 to be able to use the existing phone number for voice and video calls. The update hopes to bring the latest security patches for the Note 5.

It’s also unclear just how numerous devices under the Xperia Z brand will still be in line to receive the Nougat update, though Sony may inform owners later this year just as they did previously when it came to the Marshmallow rollout. This is not the only software update that AT&T has delayed with respect to the Galaxy Note 5.

The update will be available over-the-air. If you don’t feel like waiting to get your Marshmallow treat, though, you can also check for the update manually on the Tab S2 itself or by loading Samsung’s Smart Switch software onto your PC or Mac and hooking the Tab S2 up to your computer.
