Samsung Gear A smartwatch specifications and features revealed
The smartwatch lineup from Samsung has never featured a round bodied smartwatch and the Gear A is being hailed as a big shift. The rotatable bezel, or a term for the metallic outlines around the watch face, will be used to navigate the interface easier and zoom in and out of photos.

As for the release date of the Orbis smartwatch, which is otherwise known as Gear A, Samsung, unfortunately has yet to provide details but rumors are flying thick and fast that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on August. 13 will see the arrival of the device.
Also mentioned during the talk is a new control scheme, which uses a rotating bezel ring and crown to move through the smartwatch’s menus. According to a report, the rumor is also circulating that this new watch will be unveiled with Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
Other previously rumoured specifications for the Gear A include a dual-core Exynos 3472 SoC, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a little 250mAh battery.

For connectivity, it will have Bluetooth 4.1 which enables the device to tap seamlessly into its companion smartphones and/or tablets. Its 360 x 360 resolution display will also depend on the rotating bezel for some special features. A handful of sensors can also be found on the wearable tech, including an inbuilt Global Positioning System, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and heart rate sensors.
