Samsung giving away free wireless charger to get more Samsung Pay users

This marks the second Galaxy S6 Edge superhero model to be released by Samsung in partnership with Marvel Comics after the Iron Man edition.

Apple has always been a main competitor but China-based Xiaomi and Huawei are on the upswing. The competition has been a boon for consumers, especially those in emerging markets who can’t afford or simply shun higher-priced smartphone.

Marvel’s EVP of Global Marketing Partnerships, Bob Sabouni said, “Marvel is committed to bringing world-class content to our fans and Samsung clearly shares our passion for creative storytelling”, a statement from Samsung’s official website. We suppose if you were planning on using Samsung Pay anyway, this freebie would be a nice bonus.

The South Korean mobile phone vendor reported last week a “significant increase” in smartphone shipments in the third quarter over the same period past year.

Samsung is struggling to keep its no. 1 spot in smartphone sales and trying to maintain it with less expensive phones that generate less revenue.

Key to Samsung’s strategy has been its Galaxy J lineup, which the company has packed with respectable features at a lower price. On the back of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Ant-Man edition, the superhero’s helmet is featured, along with a unique color combination.

The Microsoft Lumia 640, Motorola Moto X Play and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge were named the best smartphones of 2015, according to the Telecom Awards issued by six specialist sites. It is unclear as to how many users they have over in the U.S., but even then it’s still a pretty good sign of the service growing.
