Photos and specs for a flip phone dubbed the Samsung SM-W2016 has appeared on the Asian certification body TENAA, as Sam Mobile points out. According to the report, the new Samsung flip phone weighs 204 grams and is 15.1 mm thick when folded shut.

Several outlets have confirmed that Samsung is preparing to release a ‘roided up flip phone. However, the phone did shed the Galaxy Golden 3 name for a shorter W2016.

Without a doubt, the unannounced, premium flip phone is indeed an upgrade to last year’s Galaxy Golden 2. We can expect Samsung to confirm that same at India launch. Flip phones may have gone out of fashion in the West but they remain popular in parts of Asia.
