Samsung Invites to IFA 2016 Hint at Gear S3 Announcement
A couple of weeks ago SamMobile reported that Samsung is planning to launch the Gear S3 at IFA, and also mentioned some of the device’s supposed features to appeal to those with an active lifestyle. But to add to this, the company has now begun sending invites to the press for said event. Samsung has scheduled the event on 1st September which is just a day before the official beginning of the IFA.

The Gear S3 will come in three variants, namely Classic, Frontier and Explorer.

Leaving the luxury edition aside, the “regular” Samsung Gear S3 is expected to include an array of sensors such as a barometer, altimeter, speedometer, and an integrated Global Positioning System. The barometer inside the Gear S3 would allow users to measure atmospheric pressure and view readings in hPa units on the display. The screen is also presumed to be much more durable thanks to the brand new Gorilla Glass 5. The smart wearable will sport an IPxx certification and will be resistant to water and dust. Aside from these two models, a Gear S3 by de Grisogono could arrive as a luxurious variant made in collaboration with Swiss jeweler de Grisogono. The present Tab S2 being launched at July in the previous year is more than a year old now. The tech giant unveiled the Gear S2 at last year’s IFA, and having already announced the Galaxy Note 7, an updated wearable could be just the thing to tickle consumers’ fancy.
