Samsung launches a premium Android flip phone in China

Samsung has high hopes for the Note. Its 5.7-inch Michigan Note boasts similar if slightly less high-end specs to the new Galaxy phones but it costs roughly $270.

Samsung believes that with smartphones like Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, you can do a lot more on-the-go. Add to that a 16-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. As the Edges are now much larger, and there’s a focus on multimedia here, we’d have expected Samsung to offer up more here, but they haven’t done that, sadly.

The company has added plenty of breathing room with 4GB of RAM, but this year’s model is only available in 32GB or 64GB models, with no microSD slot. With this in mind, Clove has set off to see what it can do for its discontented customers.

They use a 3,000 mAh battery that offers fast wired and wireless charging. “For our European customers, Samsung’s portfolio will be centered on the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, so as to better cater to their needs”.

Samsung’s Note line “has suffered in the past year with the overwhelming success of the iPhone 6 Plus”, Lam observed, and the new devices “are aimed squarely at taking back the market leadership [Samsung] established on large format smartphones”. In terms of price, the 32 GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 can be availed for $25, $30 and $249.99 under Lease, Easy Pay and 2-year contract options, respectively. While the screen size stays the same at 5.7-inches, the Note5 takes its design cues from the Galaxy S6. “Bigger screens are great for moving between images and important files”. Samsung’s S Pen stylus is the crown jewel of the Note lineup, and it’s better than it has ever been before on the Galaxy Note 5. Its build is longer and more efficient to use that the previous ones.

So what’s changed? The leather has gone, the performance is better, the display is even more impressive and the S Pen is still handy to have. An increasing number of apps, such as Microsoft OneNote, now work natively with the product.

Samsung also officially introduced Samsung Pay and said the feature will work with any POS machines that have the capability to read any credit or debit cards.

Meanwhile, unlike Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, some devices like the LG G series might skip the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update and jump straight to Android M, Neurogadget reported.

The first item on our list is clearly the most obvious. The primary problem is that it requires a Samsung phone, which already segments off a large population of people who wouldn’t switch from their iPhones even for a feature this exclusive. They will be available on the four major carriers: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.
