Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 7 on September 2nd, with preorders starting august 16th.

We have seen plenty of leaks and rumours in the past, but surprisingly, Samsung did manage to keep a few secrets.

Buy one Galaxy Note 7 and get a $695 in monthly AT&T Next credits to purchase a second.

The Galaxy Note 7 is also the first Note phablet from Samsung to feature a dual-edge screen. Its screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Perhaps the S-Pen’s standout feature, however, is the ability to translate a word on the smartphone’s screen simply by tapping it. First things first, it’s impossible to put the S Pen in backwards.

Additionally, the all-new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 also features IP68 certification making the handset water and dust resistant. LG Display has the technology even if its smartphones have not used it yet.

There’s also a new iris scanner, which unlocks the device with your eyes, and an S Pen stylus which tucks inside the glass and metal body. Why would you need to biometric sensors on a consumer smartphone?

Samsung also unveiled a new version of its Gear VR headset, which the company says should be more comfortable to wear. Unlocking Note 7 is easier because of this feature-user should look at the camera to unlock his phone, Wired reported.

The Note 7 differs in that it has support for microSD cards and 64GB of internal storage, compared to the S7’s 32GB, and its battery has been increased to 3,500mAh over the Note 5’s 3,000mAh cell.

Camera-wise, you’ll get a twelve-megapixel rear lens with Optical Image Stabilization, and five megapixels in front.

The Note 7 will have Android Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI onboard.

In addition, the name aims to allow consumers who are acquainted with the Galaxy S7, the latest smartphone flagship model of Samsung, to remember the new product more easily, Samsung Taiwan said.
