Samsung Opens new Silicon Valley Office
Of course, the company’s chip-making business remains in rude health, and with the new campus labelled by Samsung as its “new headquarters for US semiconductor operations”, it looks set to continue propping up the company’s profits.

Samsung hasn’t had a fantastic year this year, and even dating back to 2014, they haven’t been doing as well as they had in the previous few years.
The 1.1-million-square-foot campus will combine various research labs for the company’s semiconductor, LED, and display businesses. “This open space, generative design is essential for collaboration and enabling more frequent discussions, and impromptu, spur-of-the-moment interactions that are the genesis of many great ideas and bonds between employees”, Samsung says.
Samsung’s US President stated that the move “represents a major milestone as we open our most strategically important Samsung facility in the USA, and also our biggest investment in Silicon Valley”.
He added: “Samsung’s goal is nothing less than to develop the best next-generation technologies for device solutions”. The office was inaugurated in a grand opening ceremony in the presence of dignitaries such as Samsung Electronics vice chairman and co-CEO Oh-Hyun Kwon; mayor of San Jose, Sam Liccardo; and the former mayor of San Jose, Chuck Reed.
Samsung on Thursday formally welcomed visitors to its brand new $300 million campus in San Jose, California.

In keeping with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Samsung announced a number of contributions at the event that will further support the Silicon Valley community. Samsung also said it established a $1 million STEM College Education Scholarship Fund to celebrate its latest expansion.
