Samsung has confirmed that it has added support for Wells Fargo banks, for both the establishment’s debit and credit cards.
Wells Fargo customers with a Samsung device, including the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S6 active, Note5, as well as the newly announced Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, will be able to pay at locations where they can swipe or tap their debit and credit cards.
“I am delighted to have Wells Fargo on board with Samsung Pay and that our users can now enjoy more choices in debit and credit cards”, said Injong Rhee, head of research and development for software and services for Samsung’s mobile division.
At MWC 2016, Samsung boasted that Samsung Pay already has 5 million registered users, accumulating 500 million dollars worth of transactions in just six months and in South Korea and the United States alone.
Samsung Pay is supported on several Samsung Galaxy smartphones. When Apple Pay went live in China in February, 40 million cards were added to the system in just 24 hours. Samsung has announced that it has closed a deal with Wells Fargo to support Samsung Pay. In comparison, Android and Apple Pay require new compatible terminals to be installed.

I think it’s still safe to say that Samsung Pay is by far the best mobile payment system available today, even if it is limited to Samsung’s phones.
