Samsung Pay Launches in United States
In that commercial, Samsung is certainly not shy about taking on Apple Pay – going as far as featuring an iPhone attempting to use Apple Pay at a merchant, only to have it rejected.

Following a United States beta program and full debut in Samsung’s native country South Korea, mobile payment system Samsung Pay is now live in the US.
Moreover, Forbes’ review of the Samsung Galaxy Edge S6 Plus notes that the smartphone’s rounded edges allows users to access their contacts list, make and cancel calls. And as payment terminals move to support EMV and NFC technology instead, Samsung Pay will continue work with them, too. But launching a successful mobile-payments platform in the U.S.is easier said than done – just ask Apple. Verizon doesn’t yet support Samsung Pay, but Samsung said it’s still working with the wireless carrier on preloading the service on Verizon phones. Samsung’s offer is that it will cover “all monthly device payments” for the rest of the year (up to $120) if you lease or buy a Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, or Galaxy Note 5 on an installment plan.
However this update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 (model number SM-T337A) would not be rolled out at one go. As Samsung releases more phones in the future, you can expect them to also work with Samsung Pay. So you can use Samsung Pay at any almost credit card swipe terminal in the USA – making it the most widely accepted mobile wallet on the market.
Proponents of the new product say the best part about Samsung Pay is that it will work nearly anywhere. The American Express, Bank of America, Citibank, MasterCard and Visa are the ones to start supporting Samsung Pay. It means that customers must now pay fully for a device rather than a two-year contract. Thanks to Samsung’s adoption of MST and NFC, you can now pay with your phone nearly anywhere you can swipe or tap your credit card.
As with Apple Pay and other similar services, it uses NFC technology to make payments from your device in a variety of public places.
