An investigation into Galaxy Note 7 fires in China has concluded that the battery is not to blame.

The South Korean manufacturer has been facing the brunt of users’ wrath ever since reports started surfacing from around the world about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploding or catching fire on its own.

A green colored square symbol of battery indication is provided which will glow in the status bar when the device is in Always-on display mode or power-off screen mode.

Samsung said in a statement issued late on Monday that its research and quality inspection departments had concluded, after analyzing one of the Galaxy Note 7 phones that reportedly had exploded, that the damage to the phone was caused by “external heating”.

As Samsung continues the global recall of its potentially explosive Galaxy Note7 device, the company has revealed that it will begin rolling out its battery-limiting software update in Europe from 21 September.

A Bloomberg report claims how Samsung rushed to get the Galaxy Note 7 out in the market ahead of Apple’s launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. That’s unlike the new stock in Canada and the United States that – users say – features only a small black square on the box label to indicate that those are the new Note7 units. Samsung’s customer support team is also handling replacements and can be contacted on 0330 7261000.

Samsung has issued a statement that Galaxy Note 7 users in US will get replacement starting from September 21 while South Korean consumers will get replacement from September 28.

Once you turn the phone on, you’ll get another indication: the battery icon will be green instead of white.

The family of the vehicle reportedly blamed the Note 7 for the auto fire as Samsung is recalling the latest smartphone over a faulty battery. This will make it easy for cabin crew to identify the smartphone on flight and term it safe for use. Customers in the U.S. will not be able to begin trading in their phones for fresh versions until Wednesday, September 21 (see our FAQ for full details).
