Samsung rumored to introduce Live Photo-like feature for Galaxy S7

Apple’s arch rival Samsung is planning to launch a feature similar to Live Photos with the upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone. Samsung India today confirmed the handset will be available through retailers starting tomorrow. This news comes from Android Geeks and the folks at this tech portal apparently ferreted out this information from a source that said Samsung’s software engineers are testing this aspect.

Also, it will be a tad different from Apple’s Live Photos, as the Vivid Photo feature will not capture any sound along with the photo. Samsung will release the new feature some time later as an update if it fails to debut along with launch of Galaxy S7.

Multiple reports hint that Samsung will make use of the Mobile World Congress event for the launch, scheduled from February 22 to February 25. Galaxy S7 Edge will sport a.5-inch Super Amoled display also with QHD resolution i.e. 1440×2560 pixels resolution. They will have 4 GB of RAM with either 32 GB or 64 GB storage option. It was not specified if the device would be supporting an external microSD expansion.

S7 will be featuring a 12-MP rear Britecell camera sensor along with 5-MP front camera, in contradiction with earlier claims that new smartphone boasts 20-MP camera.
