Powered by Oculus, the Gear VR is now available at select Best Buy and AT&T stores, with T-Mobile coming soon. Both the e-shopping portals haven’t specified a time frame by which the stock will be refilled. The commercial shows how simple Gear VR is to use. Samsung Gear VR allows the users to play games, movies, documentaries and also games, which is specially made for virtual reality. The Samsung Gear VR is also compatible with newer releases like the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ but it will require a software update from the user’s carrier.

Users can simply put the smartphone inside the headset and take a plunge into the magical world of virtual reality at an affordable price. And it is highly advised to use the additional plugin from the store to experience real VR. It’s lighter than its predecessor.

Marketers that have adopted a ‘wait and see’ approach to virtual reality’s ability to go mainstream should be pleasantly surprised by the uptake of Samsung’s consumer version of Samsung Gear VR, which sold out online in the hours after it launched this week. Samsung Gear VR can play dozens of games such as Gunjack, Mortal Blitz and Lands End, reports PC Mag. In Europe, the device is up for pre-orders on the company’s official website in Germany and Netherlands at €99.99 (AU$148).

Facebook acquired Oculus in March 2014.
